Tea & Product Information

Where are your teas from?

Our teas are sourced from all over the world. Primarily from China, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, and Taiwan.

Do your teas contain Gluten?

Very few of Shibui teas contain gluten. Please be sure to read the ingredients. African Winter and Chocolate Chai contain Barley.

How long does tea last?

Tea will last approximately 2-3 weeks outside of an air-tight canister. In a tin canister, your tea can last up to 1 year. In the Shibui bag black bag and tubes the teas will be good for 2 to 3 years.

How should I store my tea?

To ensure your teas stay fresh, always store them in a cool, dry, dark place and keep them well sealed.

Are Shibui teas organic?

Occasionally, Shibui teas are organic. Shibui Tea provides customers with the finest tea based on taste and quality from various growers worldwide. We will use organic tea if we can find one that meets our quality standards.

How much will 100g of tea make?

100g of tea will brew between 30-35 cups of tea, unless otherwise noted. 

Are your teas Kosher?

Shibui teas are not currently certified kosher.

How is the tea packaged?

Shibui teas are packaged in aroma-tight sealed 20g, and 100g, 250g portions in our Shibui bags. The bags are equipped with a zip lock for easy re-sealing.

How much tea will the Shibui tea caddie hold?

Shibui carries tea caddies in 2 sizes – small and medium. Each small tea caddy will hold approximately 100g of loose tea, the medium caddy will hold approximately 250g. However the capacity will vary depending on the type of tea, For example, chamomile has a lot more volume than a black breakfast tea.

What types of payment do you accept?

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are all acceptable methods of payment. Our terms are payment in full. All goods remain the property of Shibui Tea until paid for in full.

Do you offer discounts or coupons?

Shibui Tea offers a 10% discount off 250g of tea or more. In addition, when you purchase 250g of any tea.

How can I cancel or modify an order placed online?

Unless your order has already been processed, you may cancel or modify your order by emailing us at customerservice@shibui-tea.ca or calling us at 1 (514) 548-3287.

How can I change information on an online order that has been submitted?

Shipping/Delivery Information

All orders over $50 before taxes qualify for free Standard delivery (excludes Yukon, Nunavut, Newfoundland and Northern Territories where a surcharge applies). 

We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 working days, with 3-7 days to deliver. All orders are packed and shipped from our warehouse in Montreal.

You may ship items to separate mailing addresses ONLY by placing separate orders for each destination.

Do you ship to International addresses?

At the moment, we are only shipping within Canada. If you would like to place your order from within Europe, please visit us at www.shibui-tea.co.uk

Can you ship to P.O. Boxes?

Yes, we currently ship to P.O. Boxes through Canada Post. 

How can I track my shipment?

When your order is complete, we will send you a confirmation email with your tracking number. To track your shipment, simply enter that number on Canada Post’s or UPS website to see where your shipment is at.

Returns & Exchanges

How can I return or exchange my purchase?

We want you to be satisfied with you order from Shibui Tea. If any of our products do not meet your expectations, we will gladly exchange or refund your purchase. Goods must be unused, unopened and have all original tags, packaging, etc., unless the product is faulty. As such, please email customerservice@shibui-tea.ca, and please include your order number and a description of the reason for the return. A full refund will be made within 30 days of receipt of the returned merchandise. Please note that refunds will only be issued to the same credit card that was used for the original purchase.

Shibui Tea does not offer franchising opportunities at this time.
